Development Manager
This position will be located at EmployIndy and reports to the Director, Development. The role of the Development Manager is to organize and execute fundraising efforts vital for EmployIndy in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. The primary responsibility is to assist with the development of fundraising plans and execute proposal development project plans as activities and responsibilities are assigned. The Development Manager will be a crucial member of the EmployIndy fundraising team. The individual in this role will spend a large portion of their time doing prospect research, writing, and submitting grant proposals. Other job activities include managing and reporting on active grants, assisting in sponsorship requests and fundraising event planning, and stewardship of funders. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent writing, research, and organizational skills to manage and report on grant activities effectively.
What you will do in this role:
- Prospect research, write and prepare compelling grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents.
- Track the progress of submitted grant proposals and maintain relationships with funding agencies.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to funding agencies, detailing the use of funds and the outcomes of funded projects.
- Participate in solving logistical issues.
- Collaborate with multiple colleagues and departments.
- Secure funding and sponsorships.
- Assist program leaders in developing fundraising plans.
- Advance the company’s initiatives through actively seeking fundraising and collaborative partners.
- Collaborate with finance and administrative staff to develop accurate budgets for grant applications.

To be successful in this role you MUST have:
- Excellent writing skills and an understanding of various grant writing techniques as demonstrated through proven experience in grant writing or transferrable writing experience.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage files, records, and documentation.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to simultaneously oversee multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

Manager, Human Resources

The Program Manager of Human Resources will be responsible for overseeing numerous aspects of human resources programs within EmployIndy, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits administration, performance management, record management and offboarding. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of HR best practices, as it will be the first point of contact for staff with HR related questions.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all payroll-related tasks.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, and serve as the main point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and issues.
- Manage all HRIS (Paylocity, Employee Navigator, etc.) and other HR-related software applications, staying informed of updates and enhancements as needed.
- Coordinate with hiring managers the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Develop and implement effective onboarding processes.
- Coordinate performance evaluation processes, providing guidance to managers and employees on goal setting and performance improvement.

- Coordinate with department heads to provide employees with opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures handbook in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information, and other HR-related documents.

Required:
- 4+ years of human resources generalist or transferable experience.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.), or obtained within the first 6 months.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- Experience in the non-profit or public sector.
- 2 years of benefits or payroll administration experience.
- Some experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced HR functions.
