PROGRAMS
How do I get an appointment?
Dress for Success Indianapolis is excited to help the women in our community be successful! There are two ways to get an appointment.
- Get a referral from a local social service agency or educational program. See the list of our referral partners here. Ask staff from the agency or program you’re already working with to refer you to Dress for Success Indianapolis.
- Complete a self-referral. If you need a clothing appointment but are not connected to any of the referring partners below, please click here to learn more about our appointments and how to book.
What if I don’t need all the services?
Career Coaching and Success Coaching are built into the 2 hour in-person clothing appointment. However, if you only need Career Coaching or Success Coaching you can reach out to the coach directly for an appointment without having to go through the styling appointment.

DONATIONS
When are donations accepted?
Donations are accepted Mondays & Wednesdays 10:00 am – 2:00pm and Fridays 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at the side door located in the parking lot south of the building or the garage door at the rear north side of the building.
Why are donation hours so limited?
Once women are in the building, we focus our attention on providing them with the resources and support they need for the course of their scheduled appointment. It is unfair to them to stop their appointment to take donations.
What if I can’t donate during the scheduled times?
Our generous partners, Classic Cleaners, accept donations for us. You can take your donations of blouses, tops, suits, and suiting separates to the Classic Cleaners location nearest you during their normal business hours.
Please note: donations dropped at Classic Cleaners are not dry cleaned for us so they must still be clean and on hangers. Dress for Success Indianapolis does not clean or press donations.
Why do you request donations be clean and on hangers?
Dress for Success Indianapolis operates a ready-to-wear boutique. Many of our clients go to interviews the same day as their suiting appointment or the next day, and many of them do not have the resources to clean and iron the clothing received. Donations received that are clean, on hangers, and appropriate for an interview in today’s workplace are placed right on the boutique floor for clients. Clothing received folded and/or in trash bags will not be used for clients.
What kind of clothing are you looking for?
We need in-season, women’s professional attire that is not more than five years old and appropriate for a job interview. If you would not wear it to a job interview or work today, we will not suit a client in it.
Why don’t you take estate donations?
Dress for Success Indianapolis provides today’s working woman with the appropriate attire for her job interview or her new workplace. If the pieces are not professional attire, in line with current styles from the last five years, the attire is not appropriate for our clients.
Do you pick up donations?
No, we do not.
Is there a program like Dress for Success that serves men?
Yes.
