Jennifer Pace Robinson has spent more than 30 years at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where her passion for creating meaningful experiences continues to fuel her work. A lifelong explorer, Jennifer loves discovering historic sites around the world, photographing ancient places, and finding adventure wherever she goes. She also believes strongly in listening, learning, and making sure others know their contributions matter.

Q & A
“Elevate” is this year’s theme. What does elevate mean to you, and how are you living it out right now?
To me, elevate means shining a light on something important that may have been overlooked. I believe in elevating others — making them feel special, being excited about their contributions and celebrating the fact that we can go further faster when we elevate others.
Describe a moment when you stepped into a new level of confidence or growth?
Working in other countries, realizing that it is my job to listen and learn and then speaking up related to my area of expertise while recognizing that I am still a guest in their world.
What empowerment advice would you give a woman who’s ready to take her next step?
Try not to second guess yourself—you deserve to be there.
Explain what motivates or grounds you when life or work feels challenging?
I go back to the “why”—the reaction I see on a child’s face when they are having a blast within an experience we created.
What brings you the most joy or energy outside of your work?
My children and my husband! Nothing better than having a “kitchen evening” cooking with them and spending the evening laughing and listening to them play music.
Tell us about any unique skills, talents, or interesting hobbies.
I love trail running, am obsessed with architecture of historic sites around the world and love taking photographs at ancient locations abroad, especially the Middle East. I love to swim anywhere, anytime, in any body of water.
