DRESS FOR SUCCESS INDIANAPOLIS ANNOUNCES GRANT FROM THE GLICK FUND
Grant funds break down barriers to self-sufficiency for Indy women.
Indianapolis, IN – The Glick Fund, a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), has announced a $50,000 grant to Dress for Success Indianapolis to combat transportation barriers for local women.
Dress for Success Indianapolis is an organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence through programming, tools, and support. The funding provided by The Glick Fund will help Dress for Success Indianapolis reach and empower hundreds more women next year.
Many women face barriers to economic independence including unreliable transportation and which can make finding a job nearly impossible. These funds will allow Dress for Success Indianapolis to alleviate transportation barriers by providing gas cards, and bus passes, and working with its community partners to provide its suiting and employment services at satellite sites around Central Indiana.
“Our agency has served more than 17,000 women seeking career advancement and economic independence over the last 20 years,” said Julie Petr, Executive Director, of Dress for Success Indianapolis. “These funds will allow Dress for Success Indianapolis to take our programs on the road to meet women where they are, and to also provide transportation assistance for women coming to the boutique which breaks down one more barrier to success and strong communities.”
