Detra holds the title of Chief Executive Officer of Just Feet Therapeutic Wellness Spa, personal foot care and massage therapy service. Detra has been in business for 20 years and looking to expand her horizon. She is currently working online through ASPIN, a training program in the area of Mental Health and Addiction to obtain her certification as a Community Health care worker. Detra earned her Associate of Science Degree along with a Technical Certificate in General Education Transfer core in May 2020.
Her vision on expansion is to open a Medical SPA clinic to the community.
Detra M. Fletcher joined Dress for Success Professional Women’s Group Organization in 2006. After completion of yearly meetings, she became a Lifelong member in 2007. In 2009/2010, Detra Earned an award for outstanding leadership services for taking on a Community Action Project with other members of the group by working with Coburn Place Save Haven.
Detra’s “moto” which still stands today will always be: “There is never a dull moment in life, there is ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO”!
Describe your job:
Provide foot care and therapeutic services for the benefit of enhancing the lives of others, resulting in a better quality of life. Reflexology is more than just a foot massage — pressure applied to specific reflex points on the foot and these points correspond to organs and areas of the body.
Why do you support the Dress for Success mission:
Dress for Success has always been supportive of me from 2006 to current. They empowered the outcome of my life. The knowledge I gained through many networks of supporters has been remarkable, and I can truly say I have balance. I will always be a lifelong member until the end.
Fun facts:
- I can juggle 8 grandkids with different personalities seven days a week
- I can get all glammed up while polishing my nails, putting on eyelashes, dressing, finishing touches of makeup, and out the door in 20 mins.
- While in elementary school between the age of 5-10 I wanted to be a nun when I grew up
The moment it became clear what career path you wanted to pursue:
After many years of taking care of family members who were faced with chronic Illnesses, it was not until 2015 that this passion became clear to me, and I developed interest overtime to pursue an education in Human Services majoring in Mental Health
