Fun facts:
I am an ordained minister who loves sci-fi movies especially vampire and werewolf movies.
I am an Amazon best-selling author with four books in the marketplace and published four books in four years.
Power piece:
My power piece is the stiletto. The stiletto for me represents confidence and grace.
What did you want to be when you grew up:
I wanted to be a pediatrician to help children with asthma because I had severe asthma as a child and spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital due to respiratory-related illnesses.
The moment in your life you felt most empowered:
When I released my second book, Walking on Water in my Stilettos, for national distribution. That book was the resource God used to help me unpack the baggage of my past I had carried around for years while giving me permission to be me and live the life I am purposed and created to live. The experience taught me that everything I went through was necessary for me to be the woman of God I am today!
Empowering advice:
Never allow someone else’s limiting ideas of you to be the lens through which you see yourself or your life. Always remember at the end of the day all that matters is what you think about yourself.
Involvement with Dress for Success Indianapolis:
I am a recipient of the services Dress for Success provides. In 2009, I found myself rebuilding my life after losing everything and DFS was a resource a friend told me about. Through my interaction with the staff, the Professional Women’s Group meetings, and the education, resources, and the sisterhood, I found my footing and was able to rebuild the foundation I stand on today.
