Dress for Success Indianapolis Encourages Area Organizations to Host Donation Drive
Send One Suit (S.O.S.) Week to take place April 16-21, 2017
INDIANAPOLIS—Dress for Success Indianapolis is asking for the community’s support to increase its level of participation during the annual Send One Suit – Week drive, April 16-21. Last year, 53 business and organization hosted donation drives. This year, Dress for Success Indianapolis hopes to increase that number to 75.
Only donations from the community make it possible for client to say things like, “I was feeling low and unsure of the direction of my life and what I can bring to a company. After coming to Dress for Success Indianapolis to get a suit and accessories for my interview, I am now confident about my professional appearance for the interview and getting the job.”
Dress for Success will use the gently-used suits, blouses and financial contributions collected during Send One Suit – Week to help prepare more than 1,250 Indianapolis-area women with interview-appropriate attire. Clothing items are given to disadvantaged women through the Suits for Success program to help transform the way they look and feel about their upcoming interview. Women who participate in the program are referred to Dress for Success Indianapolis through one of more than 100 partner agencies.
At Dress for Success Indianapolis, a volunteer personal shopper assists each woman with selecting an entire interview ensemble (suit, shoes, jewelry, hosiery, etc.) and provide interview tips to help empower them as they look to start or further their careers. Women can also come back to the Suits for Success program after they are hired for attire they need for work (business casual, scrubs, non-skid shoes and work pants, etc.).
Classic Cleaners is supporting for the tenth year by providing coupons for $10 off a dry cleaning order of $20 or more to those who donate during this campaign at any privately-sponsored drive.
Clothing donations can be made throughout the week at any Classic Cleaners store and financial donations to support the non-profit’s operations can be made at www.indydfs.org. All donations support Dress for Success Indianapolis.
