Q & A
“Elevate” is this year’s theme. What does elevate mean to you, and how are you living it out right now?
Elevate means choosing to rise—intentionally lifting not only outcomes, but people, purpose, and perspective. It is about moving beyond what is comfortable or expected and stepping into what is meaningful and impactful. I strive to be more deliberate with where I invest my time and energy. I am focused on encouraging and developing others, creating space for new ideas, and leading with clarity and purpose. It also means holding myself to a higher standard—listening more, learning continuously, and showing up with both conviction and humility. At its core, elevate is about lifting others as you climb—and making sure the work we do leaves people, communities, and opportunities better than we found them.
Describe a moment when you stepped into a new level of confidence or growth?
A defining moment of growth for me was stepping into the role of President of Lucas Oil. It required a shift from focusing on individual contributions to carrying the broader vision of the organization, making complex decisions, and leading with clarity even in uncertainty. That experience pushed me to trust my instincts, communicate with intention, and lead with both confidence and humility. It was not about having all the answers, but about stepping forward with responsibility and growing into the leader the role required.
What empowerment advice would you give a woman who’s ready to take her next step?
Trust that you are more ready than you think—take the step even before you feel fully certain. Be clear about your value, ask for what you need, and surround yourself with people who challenge and support you. Growth rarely happens in comfort, but every step forward builds confidence, clarity, and momentum.
Explain what motivates or grounds you when life or work feels challenging?
What grounds me in challenging moments is my faith—trusting that God is present and purposeful even when the path feels uncertain. It reminds me to pause, pray, and realign my perspective, knowing that my worth is not defined by outcomes but by who I am and whose I am. That foundation gives me peace in the midst of pressure and the strength to move forward with humility, perseverance, and hope.
What brings you the most joy or energy outside of your work?
What brings me the most joy and energy outside of my work is my family. They are my foundation and my greatest source of perspective—reminding me what truly matters at the end of the day. Whether it is the simple, everyday moments or celebrating milestones together, those experiences recharge me in a way nothing else can. My family keeps me grounded, encourages me to keep growing, and inspires me to show up as my best self in every part of my life.
Tell us about any unique skills, talents, or interesting hobbies.
Our newest hobby is centered around creating and caring for our home garden, greenhouse, and chickens, with a focus on living a healthier, more intentional lifestyle. We will spend time in the garden, tend to a greenhouse, and raise chickens—trying to be more connected to where our food comes from and how it is grown. It is a meaningful way for us to prioritize health, sustainability, and time together, while also learning the value of patience and the joy found in simple, everyday routines.
